The USS Kittiwake has now been on the reef in Grand Cayman for 11 months. This photo survey of the ship looks at how the ship has "aged" since she was reefed in January, 2011. There is a wide variety of marine life on the wreck and it makes a great dive.
There are 5 decks on the 47 foot tall Kittiwake. Externally, the crow's nest, mast and large stern a-frame have been cut down and remounted to make her height suitable for Cayman waters. To explore all areas of the ship will take two or three dives minimum and make sure you take your time. The lower deck has no direct access and should not be attempted by inexperienced divers.
